- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Candidates with internship or academic project experience in automotive, polyurethane (PU) foam, or manufacturing are preferred.
Job Summary
The Seating Foam Engineer will support the design, development, testing, and manufacturing of automotive seat foam components. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet quality, comfort, durability, and customer requirements while gaining hands-on experience in seating foam development and production processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of automotive seat foam components.
- Support prototype builds, sample evaluations, and product validation activities.
- Coordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Testing teams during product development.
- Assist in monitoring foam molding processes and resolving basic production issues.
- Participate in dimensional inspections and quality checks of foam parts.
- Help prepare engineering documents, drawings, BOMs, and technical reports.
- Support DFMEA, APQP, PPAP, and other product development documentation.
- Analyze test data and assist senior engineers in implementing design improvements.
- Coordinate with suppliers for material samples and technical information.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, company standards, and safety requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of polyurethane (PU) foam manufacturing or polymer materials.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T fundamentals.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks.
- Basic knowledge of automotive product development processes is an advantage.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
