Job Summary
The Purchase Officer is responsible for procuring construction materials, equipment, and services required for project execution. The role involves vendor management, price negotiation, purchase order processing, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure construction materials, tools, equipment, and services as per project requirements.
- Obtain quotations from multiple vendors and compare prices, quality, and delivery schedules.
- Negotiate rates and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs).
- Coordinate with site engineers and project managers regarding material requirements.
- Monitor material deliveries and ensure timely supply to project sites.
- Maintain records of purchases, quotations, invoices, and vendor details.
- Verify supplier invoices and coordinate with the accounts department for payment processing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Track market prices of construction materials and identify cost-effective procurement options.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
- Prepare purchase reports and maintain procurement documentation.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of construction materials and procurement processes.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and ERP software.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Additional certification in Supply Chain Management or Procurement is an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in procurement/purchasing, preferably in the civil construction industry.
Preferred Knowledge
- Construction materials such as cement, steel, aggregates, MEP materials, and finishing materials.
- GST, invoice verification, vendor evaluation, and inventory management.

Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹37,531.03 per month
