Job Description: Senior System Administrator
Location: Andheri, Mumbai, Maharashtra
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior System Administrator to manage and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, servers, systems, and end-user environments. The candidate will be responsible for system administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, security, backup, and ensuring smooth IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Windows Server and Linux server environments.
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, access controls, and security policies.
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, desktops, laptops, and IT infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and resource utilization.
- Troubleshoot server, operating system, hardware, and application-related issues.
- Perform server patching, upgrades, and security updates.
- Manage backup and restoration processes.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and basic LAN/WAN issues.
- Manage virtualization environments such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Implement system security, antivirus, endpoint protection, and access control measures.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for critical and recurring incidents.
- Maintain system documentation, IT asset records, and operational procedures.
- Coordinate with network, security, application, and vendor teams for issue resolution.
- Provide L2/L3 technical support and participate in on-call or shift support as required.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration.
- Good knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Basic to good knowledge of Linux server administration.
- Hands-on experience with VMware / Hyper-V virtualization.
- Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery processes.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, and networking concepts.
- Knowledge of system security, patch management, and endpoint security.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- MCSE, MCSA, Microsoft, or relevant certifications are an advantage.
Experience
5+ years of experience in System Administration or IT Infrastructure Support.
