Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales: Greet customers, identify their needs, and recommend appropriate pets or supplies. You will also demonstrate product features, handle payments, and process returns or exchanges.
Product Expertise: Maintain in-depth knowledge of pet food, accessories, and bedding to advise customers on proper animal care and use of products.
Store Maintenance: Stock shelves, rotate inventory based on expiry dates, and set up attractive merchandise displays.
Operational Support: Track stock levels, order new inventory, and perform administrative tasks such as maintaining sales records.
Core Skills & Requirements
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build rapport with customers and handle inquiries with a friendly, helpful attitude.
- Animal Handling: Must be gentle and confident when handling various animals, as they may bite if anxious.
- Physical Stamina: Fitness is often required for lifting heavy sacks of food or moving animal cages.
- Communication: Strong verbal skills to explain complex care instructions and persuade customers during the sales process.
- Education: While formal qualifications aren't always necessary, a basic education and a genuine interest in animal welfare are highly valued
