Job Summary
The Associate Professor in Pediatric Nursing is responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students in the area of Child Health / Pediatric Nursing, guiding academic and clinical learning, contributing to curriculum implementation, supervising research activities, and supporting the overall academic, clinical, and administrative functions of the institution. The role also includes mentoring students, participating in inspections and accreditation work, and ensuring compliance with INC/KSNC/University norms.
Key Responsibilities1. Teaching and Academic Responsibilities
- Teach Pediatric Nursing subjects for B.Sc Nursing, P.B.B.Sc Nursing, M.Sc Nursing, and other assigned nursing programs as per curriculum requirements.
- Prepare lesson plans, course files, teaching materials, presentations, and academic records.
- Deliver theory classes, practical demonstrations, bedside teaching, and clinical supervision for students.
- Conduct internal assessments, model exams, viva voce, practical examinations, and university-related academic activities.
- Evaluate student assignments, case studies, care plans, presentations, and clinical performance.
- Maintain subject-wise teaching schedules and ensure timely syllabus completion.
- Mentor and counsel students regarding academics, clinical postings, discipline, and professional development.
2. Clinical Supervision and Training
- Supervise students during pediatric clinical postings in hospitals and community settings.
- Guide students in nursing care plans, case presentations, health education, drug studies, and bedside procedures related to pediatric nursing.
- Ensure students follow hospital protocols, infection control practices, patient safety norms, and ethical nursing standards.
- Coordinate with hospital nursing staff and clinical departments for effective clinical learning exposure.
3. Research and Scholarly Activities
- Guide undergraduate and postgraduate students in dissertation work, research projects, seminars, and journal clubs.
- Encourage evidence-based practice, research publications, and paper presentations in conferences/seminars.
- Participate in departmental research initiatives, faculty development programs, workshops, and continuing nursing education activities.
- Contribute to academic writing, publication of papers, and preparation of study materials.
4. Departmental and Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist in departmental planning, academic monitoring, timetable planning, workload distribution, and execution of departmental activities.
- Maintain departmental records such as attendance, workload, teaching plans, course files, clinical records, and result analysis.
- Support the Principal and HOD during university inspections, INC/KSNC inspections, accreditation processes, and audit documentation.
- Participate in committees such as examination committee, discipline committee, research committee, anti-ragging committee, and other institutional responsibilities as assigned.
- Assist in admission-related academic counselling, orientation programs, parent meetings, and institutional events.
5. Student Guidance and Mentorship
- Act as mentor for assigned students and monitor academic progress, attendance, and clinical performance.
- Provide guidance for seminars, projects, case studies, and professional examinations.
- Promote discipline, ethical conduct, communication skills, and professional nursing behaviour among students.
6. Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements of INC, KSNC, RGUHS, and other statutory bodies.
- Maintain confidentiality of academic, student, patient, and institutional information.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, documentation, and departmental review meetings.
- Support implementation of outcome-based education, academic quality standards, and best practices in nursing education.
Qualification and Experience
- M.Sc Nursing with specialization in Pediatric Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Ph.D. in Nursing is preferred / as per statutory norms.
- Must meet INC / KSNC / RGUHS / University eligibility norms for the post of Associate Professor.
- 5 to 8 years of teaching experience required.
- Registration with the State Nursing Council is mandatory.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
