Job Summary:
The Spare Parts Manager is responsible for managing the complete spare parts operations of the dealership, ensuring the availability of genuine parts, maintaining optimum inventory levels, achieving sales targets, controlling inventory costs, and providing excellent support to the service and sales departments.
Key Responsibilities:Inventory Management
- Maintain optimum stock levels of spare parts and accessories.
- Monitor inventory movement and reorder parts as per demand.
- Ensure availability of fast-moving parts to avoid service delays.
- Conduct periodic stock audits and physical inventory verification.
- Minimize dead stock, obsolete stock, and inventory carrying costs.
Parts Procurement
- Place orders with manufacturers and approved vendors.
- Track parts orders and ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain proper documentation of purchase orders and receipts.
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding shortages, damages, and returns.
Parts Sales & Revenue Generation
- Achieve monthly and annual spare parts sales targets.
- Promote sales of genuine parts and accessories.
- Develop strategies to increase parts revenue and profitability.
- Monitor sales trends and customer requirements.
Team Management
- Supervise Parts Executives, Store Keepers, and Counter Sales Staff.
- Allocate duties and monitor team performance.
- Conduct regular training on product knowledge and inventory processes.
- Ensure adherence to dealership policies and procedures.
Service Department Coordination
- Coordinate with Service Advisors and Technicians regarding parts requirements.
- Ensure timely issuance of parts for workshop jobs.
- Support efficient workshop operations through prompt parts availability.
- Handle emergency and back-order parts requirements.
Store Operations
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and binning of parts.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the parts warehouse.
- Implement FIFO (First In First Out) inventory practices.
- Ensure accurate stock records in the Dealer Management System (DMS).
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and sales reports.
- Analyze stock movement and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and manufacturer standards.
- Monitor warranty parts handling and claim procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Commerce, or related field.
- Additional certification in Inventory Management is preferred.
Experience:
- 5–10 years of experience in automobile spare parts operations.
- Minimum 2–3 years of managerial experience in an automobile dealership.
