Purpose of the Role
The Fire & Safety Executive is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining top-tier fire and safety standards within the organization. This role ensures complete compliance with statutory local safety laws, promotes a secure working environment, and minimizes operational risks through proactive hazard management.
Main Responsibilities & Critical Tasks
1. Compliance & Inspections
Monitor compliance with local safety laws, statutory regulations, and organizational HSE guidelines.
Conduct regular inspections of all fire extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers, alarms, and emergency exits.
Ensure all fire exits, escape routes, and assembly points remain entirely unobstructed.
Oversee and monitor compliance regarding the site work permit-to-work systems and daily safety rules.
2. Emergency Preparedness & Incident Management
Lead emergency response teams and clear evacuations during real-world incidents or fire emergencies.
Account for all personnel and handle head-counting at designated assembly points.
Coordinate efficiently with external emergency services, including the local Fire Department and hospitals.
Actively develop, review, and implement emergency response and evacuation procedures.
3. Risk Assessment, Audits & Training
Conduct formal fire risk assessments, safety audits, and timely hazard identification exercises.
Investigate safety incidents, accidents, or near-misses, and recommend preventive/corrective actions (CAPA).
Organize and run periodic company-wide mock fire drills.
Deliver dynamic safety training programs to employees and contractors, highlighting firefighting systems, PPE usage, and basic First Aid/CPR.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) & Measures
Accident Frequency Rate reduction.
Accident Severity Rate management.
Number of near-misses and incidents reported/resolved.
On-time completion of HSE compliance audits.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Must hold a PDIS (Post Diploma in Industrial Safety), or a recognized Degree/Diploma in Industrial Safety, validating status as a qualified safety officer from an accredited institute.
Experience: 2 to 5 years of active experience handling fire and safety profiles in a similar fast-paced industrial or corporate setting.
Skills & Competencies
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of fire prevention systems, fire hazard identification, work permit protocols, incident reporting systems, and basic First Aid/CPR.
Soft Skills: Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, strong presentation capacities for running safety workshops, and cultural sensitivity.
Execution: Highly organized, positive attitude, and capable of functioning independently with minimal supervision.
Tech-Savviness: Intermediate digital skills including hands-on experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic Project Management tools.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
