1. Who is a Caregiver?
A caregiver (often called Kaigo Fukushishi or care worker in Japan) provides direct care and support to elderly, sick, disabled, or dependent individuals who cannot fully care for themselves.
2. Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities typically include assistance with daily activities such as bathing, feeding, toileting, mobility support (e.g., walking or wheelchair assistance), monitoring health conditions, medication reminders, recreational activities, and maintaining records. It is hands-on personal care rather than medical nursing, though it involves collaboration with medical staff.
- Caregivers work in facilities like nursing homes, hospitals (recuperation wards), or private homes, emphasizing dignity, empathy, and respect for the elderly.
Eligibility:
- a) Minimum: 10+2 (Class 12 / Higher Secondary) or equivalent or Graduate Nursing/paramedical backgrounds (ANM, GNM, BSc Nursing) are advantageous but not always required.
- b) Preferred age: 20–28 years (Male or Female).
- c) Candidates should be able to speak and communicate in english.
3. Where is the job location?
Candidates shall be informed about the job location after they pass out the Job interview and are selected for the role. As per company location in Japan.
4. What is the duration of employment? The total duration of the programme is for 5 years.
5. What are the trainings & exams required to become Caregiver?
- a) Japanese Language Training (N5 level & N4 level)
- b) Japanese Work Culture Training
- c) Pass JLPT N4 or JFT-Basic level.
- d) Required to pass the Nursing Care Skills Evaluation Test (Prometric)
- e) Nursing Care Japanese Language Evaluation Test.
6. What is the Visa category for Caregiver?
- a) SSW Type1
- b) Visa is applicable for only those who are hired as to work as a Caregiver.
- c) Family accompaniment is generally not allowed under SSW(i).
7. What are the Remuneration and benefits of being a Caregiver?
Salary: Approximately ¥150,000–¥250,000+ (roughly ₹80,000- ₹140,000) per month (For example, if INR 100,000 is the gross salary of the candidate, than the take home Salary per month after insurance & income tax deduction shall be around ₹80,000 After spending on Accommodation, Food, Transport & Utilities, Personal Expenses, one can potentially save approximately ₹20,000–₹40,000 per month.)*
