We are seeking a hands-on Farm Operations Executive to manage the day-to-day running of our farm in Munnar. This is a field-based role suited to someone with genuine, practical farming experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining crop health, supervising workers, and ensuring that daily operations are carried out efficiently and to a high standard.
This is an outdoor, hands-on position, not a desk job. It will suit someone who is comfortable working with the soil, adapting to changing weather, and solving practical problems on the ground.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily farm operations, including planting, irrigation, fertilization, pruning, and harvesting
- Monitor crop health and take timely action against pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies
- Supervise farm labourers and manage daily work schedules
- Maintain tools, equipment, and basic farm infrastructure
- Track farm inputs, yields, and routine operational records
- Coordinate with the owners and management on farm planning and improvements
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and discipline across the farm
- Adapt work according to the seasonal and weather conditions specific to Munnar
Requirements
- Practical farming knowledge; formal education is optional, relevant experience is essential
- Prior experience working on farms, plantations, or agricultural land
- Sound understanding of local crops, soil, climate, and basic agricultural practices
- Ability to manage and direct workers effectively without micromanaging
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors on a daily basis
- Basic record-keeping and communication skills
Preferred
- Experience with plantation crops such as tea, spices, vegetables, or fruits
- Knowledge of organic or sustainable farming practices
- Familiarity with farming in hill stations or high-rainfall areas
