This is a contract, on-site Piping Engineer role based in Vishakhapatnam. The Piping Engineer will be responsible for designing and reviewing piping systems for oil and gas and related industrial projects, including layout development, equipment connectivity, and routing in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
Day-to-day tasks include performing detailed calculations and stress analysis, preparing and checking isometrics, material take-offs, and technical documents, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams such as mechanical, structural, and project engineering.
The role involves supporting fabrication and erection activities, resolving site engineering queries, and participating in design reviews and client meetings to ensure technical compliance and constructability.
The Piping Engineer will also contribute to cost-conscious design solutions and assist in preparing documentation for estimation, tendering, and project execution.
Qualifications ::: Strong skills in piping design, including Piping and Pipe layout and routing for industrial projects.Proficiency in engineering calculations and Stress Analysis for piping systems. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.Experience with relevant design codes and standards (such as ASME, API, IS codes for piping and pressure equipment).Ability to read and prepare engineering drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and material specifications.Familiarity with piping design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, CAD-based 3D modeling tools, CAESAR II or equivalent) is an advantage.Previous experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial projects, especially in on-site roles, is preferred.Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with site teams and clients. Strong attention to detail, safety-conscious mindset, and ability to work to project schedules and deadlines.
