Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP HANA Senior Developer with 7–10 years of hands-on experience to design, develop, and optimize high-performance ABAP solutions on SAP S/4HANA and HANA platforms. The role involves modern ABAP development, performance optimization, S/4HANA code remediation, and close collaboration with functional teams to deliver scalable, enterprise-grade solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and workflows in ECC and S/4HANA environments.
- Develop and optimize solutions using ABAP on HANA principles (code pushdown, performance-oriented Open SQL).
- Build and maintain CDS Views, AMDP, and HANA-optimized data models.
- Refactor legacy ABAP code to ensure S/4HANA compatibility and improved performance.
- Develop and expose OData services for integration with SAP Fiori/UI5 applications.
- Collaborate with functional consultants (FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, HR) to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- Prepare technical design documents, specifications, and development artifacts.
- Perform unit testing, support SIT/UAT, and resolve defects across environments.
- Support transports, deployments, and post-go-live stabilization activities.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and deliver permanent fixes.
- Perform code reviews, enforce development standards, and mentor junior developers.
- Coordinate with BASIS and security teams for technical deployments and access controls.
- Participate in S/4HANA implementations, upgrades, and conversion projects.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7–10 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.
- Strong experience with ABAP on HANA and S/4HANA development concepts.
- Hands-on expertise in CDS Views, AMDP, Open SQL on HANA, and performance tuning.
- Experience with classic ABAP objects: Reports, ALV, BAPI, BADI, User Exits, Enhancements, IDocs, RFCs.
- Experience building OData services and integrating with SAP Fiori/UI5.
- Strong understanding of SAP data models and performance optimization techniques.
- Experience with SPAU/SPDD and custom code remediation for S/4HANA migration.
- Good understanding of SAP functional modules (FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, HR).
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with RAP model and modern ABAP programming (ABAP OO).
- Exposure to SAP BTP integrations and services.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery models.
- SAP ABAP / S/4HANA certifications.
- Prior experience in S/4HANA greenfield or brownfield implementations.
