VMC Operator – Job Description

Position: VMC Operator
Experience: 1–5 Years
Salary: ₹15,000 – ₹30,000 per month
Job Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu
Employment Type: Full-Time
Joining: Immediate Joiners Preferred
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor VMC (Vertical Machining Centre) machines.
- Set up machines, tools, and workpieces as per drawings and job requirements.
- Read and understand engineering drawings and dimensions.
- Perform tool setting, offset setting, and basic machine adjustments.
- Monitor machining operations and ensure required quality standards.
- Check dimensions using vernier caliper, micrometer, and other measuring instruments.
- Maintain proper machine operation and workplace safety.
- Identify basic machine/tool issues and report them to the supervisor.
- Maintain production and inspection records as required.
Requirements:
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or related field preferred.
- 1–5 years of experience as a VMC Operator.
- Knowledge of VMC machine operation and basic CNC concepts.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments and quality inspection.
- Willingness to work in shifts, if required.
- Immediate joiners are preferred.
