Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Electrical & Maintenance Engineer with strong experience in Die Casting / Manufacturing industries to manage the overall electrical and maintenance activities of the factory.
The candidate will be responsible for Preventive Maintenance (PM), Breakdown Maintenance, Electrical Furnaces, Die Casting Machines, Compressors, DG Sets, HT/LT electrical systems, cabling, wiring and other plant utilities.
The ideal candidate should be capable of independently troubleshooting breakdowns, coordinating maintenance activities and ensuring maximum machine uptime and safe plant operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Maintenance
- Conduct regular Preventive Maintenance (PM) of all electrical equipment and machines.
- Troubleshoot and attend electrical breakdowns on a priority basis.
- Maintain and troubleshoot LT panels, MCC panels, control panels, motors, starters, contactors, relays and electrical circuits.
- Handle electrical maintenance of Die Casting Machines and associated equipment.
- Maintenance of Electrical Furnaces / Holding Furnaces / Melting Furnaces.
- Troubleshooting of furnace heating systems, temperature controllers, thermocouples, heaters and related electrical components.
- Monitor and maintain DG Sets, compressors, pumps, cooling towers and other plant utilities.
- Carry out inspection and maintenance of cables, wiring, earthing and electrical distribution systems.
Die Casting Plant Maintenance
- Attend electrical and mechanical breakdowns of HPDC / GDC / LPDC machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to minimize machine downtime.
- Identify recurring machine problems and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Support installation and commissioning of new machines and equipment.
- Assist in maintenance of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems during breakdowns.
- Ensure critical spare parts are identified and maintained.
Factory Electrical Work
- Plan and execute new factory electrical cabling and wiring.
- Organize cable routing, cable trays and wiring from a safety and maintenance point of view.
- Ensure proper earthing and electrical safety throughout the plant.
- Support electrical installation for new machines, furnaces and utilities.
- Coordinate with external electrical contractors whenever required.
Preventive Maintenance & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly PM schedules.
- Maintain machine-wise maintenance history and breakdown records.
- Record breakdown duration, root cause and corrective actions.
- Maintain MTBF / MTTR and machine downtime records.
- Prepare maintenance checklists and inspection reports.
- Maintain records of spares, consumables and maintenance activities.
- Ensure PM activities are completed as per schedule.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all electrical work is carried out according to industrial safety standards.
- Regularly inspect electrical panels, cables, machines and plant utilities for unsafe conditions.
- Ensure proper LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) practices during maintenance.
- Check electrical earthing, insulation and other safety parameters periodically.
- Support factory safety audits and statutory inspections.
- Ensure maintenance activities do not compromise employee or equipment safety.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on knowledge of electrical maintenance in manufacturing / die casting plants.
- Good troubleshooting skills in electrical and control systems.
- Knowledge of Electrical Furnaces, Die Casting Machines, DG Sets and Compressors.
- Knowledge of motors, starters, contactors, relays, sensors and control panels.
- Basic knowledge of PLC troubleshooting will be an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to handle emergency breakdowns independently.
- Good knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores and other departments.
- Willingness to work in shifts and attend emergency breakdowns when required.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering – Mandatory
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Electrical Maintenance.
- Candidates with experience in Die Casting / Automobile / Engineering Manufacturing Industries will be preferred.
- Experience with HPDC / GDC / LPDC machines and furnaces will be an added advantage.
