Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal policies.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, PeopleSoft, or UltiPro for data entry and financial reporting.
- Support payroll management using systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or Ceridian; ensure accurate payroll processing and tax compliance.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including general ledger reconciliation and financial statement preparation.
- Contribute to internal controls compliance such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and audit preparations for governmental or non-profit accounting.
Skills
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and journal entries.
- Proficiency with financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
- Experience with payroll systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos or UltiPro; knowledge of payroll management best practices.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting principles is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy (10 key typing skills).
- Excellent analytical skills for account analysis, account reconciliation, and financial statement review.
