Job Summary
Alagappa Schools is seeking a skilled and responsible Network Engineer to manage and support the school’s IT infrastructure, network connectivity, systems and technical operations. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth and reliable day-to-day IT services across the campus.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage and maintain computers, printers, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi and internet connectivity.
· Configure, monitor and troubleshoot routers, switches, access points and network devices.
· Handle CCTV camera monitoring, maintenance and footage retrieval..
· Manage biometric attendance systems and generate attendance reports.
· Organize and provide technical support for Google Meet sessions, meetings and online classes.
· Provide technical support to staff and students and resolve hardware/software/network issues.
· Maintain IT records, equipment details and related documentation.
· Coordinate with vendors and service providers for IT equipment, internet and technical maintenance.
· Assist with day-to-day office and administrative IT-related work.
Required Skills
· Good knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VLAN, DHCP, DNS and IP addressing
· Knowledge of routers, switches, access points and firewalls..
· Basic understanding of network security and troubleshooting.
· Ability to diagnose and resolve network and connectivity issues independently.
· Knowledge of CCTV and biometric systems will be an advantage.
· Ability to coordinate effectively with vendors and service providers.
Educational Qualification
· Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking or a related field.
· CCNA or other relevant networking certification will be an advantage.
