Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Primary Science Teacher (PRT) to teach Science to students in the Primary grades. Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemistry or Physics, along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). The ideal candidate should possess strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to make Science engaging through hands-on and inquiry-based learning.
Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum and school academic framework.
- Foster curiosity, critical thinking, observation, and scientific inquiry among students.
- Use activity-based, experiential, and project-based teaching methodologies.
- Integrate technology, experiments, demonstrations, and real-life applications into classroom instruction.
- Differentiate teaching strategies to address diverse learning abilities.
Student Assessment
- Conduct formative and summative assessments as per school guidelines.
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate academic records, assessment data, and student portfolios.
- Identify students requiring academic support and implement appropriate interventions.
Classroom Management
- Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment.
- Encourage active participation, collaboration, and responsible classroom behaviour.
- Ensure student safety during classroom and laboratory activities.
Parent Communication
- Communicate student progress effectively with parents during Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Address academic concerns professionally and collaboratively.
- Partner with parents to support students' overall development.
Collaboration & School Activities
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and academic coordinators.
- Participate in curriculum development, staff meetings, training programmes, and school events.
- Contribute to exhibitions, Science fairs, competitions, assemblies, and co-curricular activities.
- Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the school leadership.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain attendance registers, lesson plans, assessment records, and classroom documentation.
- Submit reports and academic records within stipulated timelines.
- Adhere to school policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry or Physics (preferred).
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) – Mandatory.
- Additional certifications in STEM education, classroom technology, or child psychology will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE, ICSE, or reputed school.
- Experience teaching Science at the Primary level is preferred.
- Freshers with strong academic credentials, B.Ed., and excellent communication skills may also apply.
