Job Summary
The Fireman is responsible for ensuring fire safety and emergency preparedness at the project site. The role includes inspecting and maintaining firefighting equipment, responding to fire emergencies, conducting fire drills, and ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations to protect life and property.
Key ResponsibilitiesFire Safety Operations
- Monitor the premises to identify and eliminate fire hazards.
- Respond promptly to fire emergencies and take appropriate firefighting actions.
- Operate firefighting equipment such as fire extinguishers, hydrant systems, hose reels, sprinkler systems, and fire pumps.
- Assist in the safe evacuation of occupants during emergencies.
Inspection & Maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections of all firefighting systems and equipment.
- Ensure fire extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers, smoke detectors, fire alarms, and emergency lighting are in proper working condition.
- Report any defects or malfunctions and coordinate with the maintenance team for rectification.
- Maintain inspection and maintenance records.
Emergency Preparedness
- Participate in mock drills and emergency response exercises.
- Guide employees, residents, visitors, and contractors during emergency situations.
- Provide first response in case of fire, gas leaks, or other emergencies until external emergency services arrive.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with local fire safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain fire safety logs, incident reports, and inspection checklists.
- Assist during statutory inspections by the Fire Department and other authorities.
Safety Awareness
- Promote fire safety awareness among employees, residents, and contractors.
- Ensure emergency exits, staircases, and fire escape routes remain clear and accessible.
- Verify that fire safety signage is properly displayed and visible.
Required Qualifications
- 10+2 or equivalent qualification.
- Certificate in Fire & Safety from a recognized institute.
- Valid Fireman Training Certificate (preferred).
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Fireman in a real estate company, commercial building, residential township, hospital, hotel, industrial unit, or facility management organization.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of fire prevention and firefighting techniques.
- Ability to operate firefighting equipment and emergency systems.
- Understanding of fire alarm, sprinkler, hydrant, and pump systems.
- Knowledge of emergency evacuation procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively during emergencies.
- Basic knowledge of fire safety regulations and compliance requirements.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
