A Pharmacy Assistant Trainee supports licensed pharmacists by learning to process prescriptions, manage inventory, and assist customers. Working on-site in a retail or hospital pharmacy, trainees develop the hands-on skills needed for safe medication dispensing, stock control, and basic administrative operations.
.Key Responsibilities
Dispensing Support:Learn to measure, count, and package medications under direct pharmacist supervision.
Inventory Management: Assist in unpacking, stocking shelves, and monitoring for expired medications.
Patient Service: Act as the first point of contact for patients, directing all medication and health-related inquiries to the licensed pharmacist.
.Administrative Tasks: Operate cash registers, process insurance or billing paperwork, and maintain patient files.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Typically requires a High School Diploma, Plus Two, or a foundational certification in D.Pharm.
Skills: Strong attention to detail, basic computer proficiency, and excellent communication skills.
Regulatory Compliance: Strict adherence to patient confidentiality and pharmacy safety regulations.
