Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration Technician to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot refrigeration systems in our cold storage facilities. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted cooling operations, maintaining temperature compliance, and minimizing equipment downtime through effective preventive and corrective maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Refrigeration System Operations & Maintenance
Operate and monitor cold storage refrigeration systems, cold rooms, and temperature-controlled chambers.
Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of refrigeration equipment, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and related components.
Ensure optimal performance of Freon-based refrigeration systems and associated utilities.
Monitor temperature, pressure, and refrigeration parameters and maintain records.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
Diagnose and rectify refrigeration system faults and equipment breakdowns.
Attend emergency maintenance calls and restore systems within minimum downtime.
Repair and replace faulty components, valves, motors, sensors, and controls as required.
Electrical & Utility Maintenance
Assist in maintenance of electrical panels, motors, pumps, and utility equipment.
Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams for smooth functioning of the facility.
Ensure proper operation of backup systems and utilities supporting refrigeration operations.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety procedures and maintenance SOPs.
Ensure compliance with food safety, cold chain, and operational standards.
Maintain housekeeping and safety practices within plant and machinery areas.
Documentation
Maintain maintenance logs, equipment history records, and service reports.
Update preventive maintenance schedules and report equipment performance issues.
Qualifications
ITI / Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
Certification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning preferred.
Experience & Skills
3–8 years of experience in cold storage, cold chain, refrigeration, food processing, or warehouse facilities.
Hands-on experience with Freon-based refrigeration systems, cold rooms, and chillers.
Knowledge of refrigeration controls, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance practices.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency breakdown situations.
Preferred Skills
Experience in temperature-controlled warehousing or cold chain operations.
Knowledge of compressors, evaporators, condensers, and refrigeration piping.
Understanding of safety standards and maintenance documentation.
