We are seeking a skilled Quality Inspector with a Diploma or ITI qualification to join our quality control team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of hands-on experience in sheet metal inspection and ensure that all fabricated parts meet strict quality standards before delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of sheet metal components using tools like vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM (if trained).
- Inspect welds, bends, surface finish, and tolerances as per engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Identify defects such as dents, scratches, burrs, improper forming, or welding issues and report non-conformances.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections on laser-cut, punched, bent, and welded parts.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, checklists, and quality reports.
- Support root cause analysis for rejected parts and suggest corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 or relevant quality standards.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues promptly.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI (Fitter, Welder, Machinist, or Sheet Metal trade) from a recognized institute.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in quality inspection within a sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing unit.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal processes (cutting, bending, welding, finishing).
- Proficient in reading engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and using precision measuring instruments.
- Good observation skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, documentation).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced shop floor environment.
