Key Responsibilities:
Source and procure fresh fruits and vegetables from farmers, vendors, aggregators, and wholesale markets.
Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers while building long-term vendor relationships.
Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and contracts to achieve cost-effective procurement.
Ensure procurement of produce meeting the company's quality, food safety, and freshness standards.
Plan daily and seasonal procurement based on demand forecasts, sales trends, and inventory requirements.
Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, and operations teams to ensure timely receipt and distribution of produce.
Monitor market trends, seasonal availability, pricing fluctuations, and competitor activities to optimize procurement decisions.
Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and ensure timely resolution of quality or supply-related issues.
Maintain procurement records, purchase orders, vendor documentation, and ERP/system updates accurately.
Minimize procurement costs, wastage, and stock losses while ensuring product availability and service levels.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
4–6 years of procurement experience in the Fresh Fruits & Vegetables (F&V), FMCG, Retail, or Food industry.
Strong knowledge of fresh produce grading, quality standards, seasonality, and supply chain dynamics.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, vendor management, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems is preferred.
Willingness to travel to farms, wholesale markets, and supplier locations as required.
