Job Summary
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled AIX UNIX System Administrator with a solid foundation in Linux to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, support, and maintenance of our AIX and Linux environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role requires a proactive approach to system management and a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. Key Responsibilities: • Administer and maintain AIX UNIX systems, ensuring high availability and performance. • Support and manage Linux servers, including installation, configuration, and upgrades. • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity. • Implement and maintain security measures, including user access controls and system patches. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement system solutions that meet business needs. • Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies. • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure data integrity and availability. • Assist in capacity planning and system optimization to support business growth. • Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to AIX and Linux administration. Qualifications: • Proven experience as an AIX UNIX System Administrator, with a strong understanding of AIX operating systems. • Familiarity with Linux systems administration, including Red Hat, Oracle Linux and Ubuntu. • Experience with shell scripting and automation tools to streamline system management tasks. • Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP). • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Relevant certifications (e.g., AIX, RedHat or Oracle Linux) are a plus.
