Position: Dance Teacher / Performing Arts Teacher (Dance)

Job Summary
A Dance Teacher is responsible for teaching various dance forms to students, developing rhythm, coordination, expression, and cultural appreciation. The role includes training students for school events, competitions, annual functions, and inter-school performances while encouraging creativity and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach different dance styles to students:
- Classical dance (e.g., Kathak, Bharatanatyam – if applicable)
- Folk dances
- Contemporary dance
- Western dance forms (freestyle, hip-hop basics, etc.)
- Plan and conduct structured dance lessons and practice sessions.
- Choreograph performances for school events, annual functions, and celebrations.
- Train students for inter-school competitions and cultural programs.
- Develop students’ rhythm, coordination, flexibility, and stage confidence.
- Organize rehearsals and manage stage performances.
- Maintain discipline, safety, and proper warm-up routines during sessions.
- Select music, costumes, and themes for performances.
- Maintain records of student participation and progress.
- Participate in school cultural events, PTMs, and meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Dance (Classical/Contemporary/Performing Arts) preferred.
- Certification in any recognized dance form is an advantage.
- Formal training in choreography or performing arts is preferred.
- Good communication and stage presentation skills.
Experience
- Fresher or 1–5 years of teaching/choreography experience preferred.
- Experience in school performances or stage shows is an advantage.
