We are seeking a Senior Principal Engineer – Backend & AI to lead the architecture, design, and development of highly scalable backend platforms while driving AI-powered product innovation. This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for defining engineering strategy, mentoring senior engineers, and building cloud-native distributed systems integrated with modern AI technologies.
The ideal candidate combines deep backend engineering expertise with practical experience building production AI/LLM applications.

- Lead the design of highly scalable distributed systems.
- Establish engineering best practices across architecture, coding, testing, security, and DevOps.
- Drive technical decisions across multiple teams.
- Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers.
- Review critical architecture and design proposals.
- Lead performance optimization and system reliability initiatives.
- Design microservices-based architectures.
- Build high-performance REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Design event-driven systems using Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
- Develop scalable data processing pipelines.
- Optimize databases for high throughput and low latency.
- Ensure high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery.
- Build production-grade AI applications using LLMs.
- Design Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
- Develop AI agents and workflow automation.
- Implement vector search and semantic retrieval.
- Integrate foundation models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or open-source models.
- Evaluate AI model quality, latency, and cost.
- Implement guardrails, prompt engineering, and AI observability.
- Build AI APIs and inference services.
