Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer/Setter to work in our state-of-the-art gear manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience programming and setting CNC machines, with a focus on precision gear manufacturing. You will be responsible for programming, setting, and optimizing CNC machines to produce high-quality gear components with excellent accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- CNC Programming: Create and modify CNC programs.
- Machine Setup: Set up CNC machines (turning and milling machines) for gear manufacturing, ensuring that all tools, fixtures, and work pieces are correctly aligned.
- Tool Selection and Calibration: Select, install, and calibrate tools required for the job, ensuring proper cutting conditions.
- Quality Control: Perform in-process inspection and troubleshooting, ensuring parts meet the required specifications and tolerances.
- Process Optimization: Analyze and optimize machining processes to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and maintain product quality.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production teams, and quality control departments to ensure seamless production processes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer/Setter, preferably in gear manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machine operation and programming.
- Experience with gear manufacturing, including knowledge of gear types, tolerances, and cutting techniques.
- Solid understanding of technical drawings, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of quality control techniques and measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gear tooth profile testers).
- Experience with 5-axis machining is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with gear hobbers, grinders, and other specialized gear manufacturing machines.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and quality management systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Experience with multi-axis CNC machines is an advantage.
