Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Lead Engineer to provide technical leadership for the design and engineering of skid-mounted process packages and substation projects. The role will serve as the discipline lead for all electrical, instrumentation, and control system engineering activities, ensuring designs are technically sound, compliant with applicable standards, and aligned with client specifications.
The successful candidate will act as the technical authority for E&I engineering, supporting concept development, detailed engineering, vendor review, testing, and commissioning support activities.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for Electrical and Instrumentation engineering.
- Establish discipline design criteria, engineering philosophies, and technical standards.
- Interpret and apply client specifications, industry codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure consistency, quality, and technical integrity of all E&I engineering deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers.
- Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, HAZOPs, constructability reviews, and engineering workshops.
Electrical Engineering
- Lead and review the development of:
- Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- Electrical Load Lists
- Load Flow Studies
- Short Circuit Studies
- Protection Coordination Studies
- Earthing and Grounding Designs
- Lightning Protection Systems
- Cable Sizing Calculations
- Cable Schedules and Routing Layouts
- Power Distribution Architecture
- Transformer, Switchgear, MCC, and UPS Specifications
- Provide technical oversight for MV/LV systems associated with industrial facilities and substations.
- Review electrical equipment specifications and vendor documentation.
- Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, and project-specific standards.
Instrumentation & Control Engineering
- Lead and review the preparation of:
- Instrument Indexes
- Instrument Datasheets
- I/O Lists
- Cable Schedules
- Loop Diagrams
- Hook-up Drawings
- Control Narratives
- Cause & Effect Matrices
- Alarm and Shutdown Philosophies
- Review instrument selection and application for process, utility, and package systems.
- Provide technical oversight for PLC, SCADA, DCS, HMI, and communication system interfaces.
- Ensure compliance with ISA standards and functional safety requirements.
- Support hazardous area classification reviews and intrinsic safety design requirements.
Skid Package Engineering
- Lead E&I engineering activities for skid-mounted packages, including:
- Metering Skids
- Chemical Injection Packages
- Pump Packages
- Compressor Packages
- Water Treatment Systems
- Utility and Process Skids
- Ensure proper integration of electrical, instrumentation, control, and package equipment requirements.
- Review package vendor designs and ensure compliance with project specifications and engineering standards.
Substation Engineering
- Provide technical leadership for substation electrical design activities.
- Review and approve designs for:
- MV/LV Switchgear Systems
- Power Transformers
- Protection and Control Systems
- Auxiliary Power Systems
- Earthing and Lightning Protection Systems
- Control and Relay Panels
- Support protection philosophy development and system integration activities.
Vendor and Technical Review
- Review and approve vendor technical submissions, drawings, calculations, and datasheets.
- Participate in technical bid evaluations and equipment selection reviews.
- Resolve technical queries related to electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and technical verification activities when required.
Engineering Quality and Compliance
- Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.
- Conduct technical reviews and interdisciplinary design checks.
- Promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support development and maintenance of engineering standards, specifications, and templates.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Master's Degree is advantageous.
Experience
- 12+ years of Electrical and Instrumentation engineering experience in industrial, energy, power, water, or process industries.
- Proven experience leading the engineering design of skid packages and/or substation projects.
- Strong background in detailed engineering and technical reviews.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
