Job Description – Ophthalmic Technician / Optometrist Technician
Position: Ophthalmic Technician / Optometrist Technician
Department: Ophthalmology
Reporting To: Ophthalmologist / Hospital Administrator
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary eye examinations, including visual acuity, refraction, and basic diagnostic tests.
- Assist ophthalmologists during patient examinations and minor procedures.
- Operate and maintain ophthalmic equipment such as Auto Refractometer, Slit Lamp, Tonometer, and Lensometer.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic tests and explain procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update the Hospital Management System (HMS).
- Educate patients on eye care, spectacle use, and contact lens handling.
- Ensure cleanliness, sterilization, and proper maintenance of ophthalmic instruments.
- Coordinate with the optical department for spectacle prescriptions and follow-ups.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Optometry or Ophthalmic Technology.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in a hospital or eye clinic.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of ophthalmic instruments and diagnostic procedures.
- Excellent communication and patient-handling skills.
- Basic computer and HMS proficiency.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional, compassionate, and service-oriented approach.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹33,000.00 per month
