What will you do?
Lead Sun Pharma's global agenda across Claims Governance, Insurance Recovery, Enterprise Risk Management, Employee Benefits Claims Administration, and Insurance Program Excellence.
The role is accountable for protecting enterprise value through proactive risk identification, loss prevention, claims advocacy, rapid incident response, business continuity support, insurer engagement, and recovery optimization across Property, Marine, Liability, Cyber, Product Liability, D&O, EPLI, Crime, Employee Benefits, Energy, Projects, and other specialty insurance programs.
The incumbent will build strategic relationships across the insurance ecosystem and leverage technical expertise, negotiation capability, and stakeholder influence to maximize recoveries, minimize losses, strengthen risk governance, and drive superior business outcomes globally.
Scale of Responsibility
- Global accountability across 50+ countries and 80+ legal entities.
- Oversight of all major insurance claim categories and recovery initiatives.
- Management of claims portfolio exceeding USD 50 Million.
- Governance of employee medical insurance programs covering approximately 34,000 employees and 115,000 lives.
- Extensive engagement with insurers, reinsurers, brokers, underwriters, TPAs, surveyors, loss adjusters, investigators, hospitals, regulators, consultants, and legal counsels globally.
- Support for M&A transactions, integrations, strategic projects, and enterprise risk initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
1. Global Claims Leadership & Recovery Excellence
- Lead global insurance claims governance, settlement, and recovery across all insurance lines.
- Maximize recoveries, minimize uninsured losses, and manage complex cross-border claims.
- Ensure strong claims governance, compliance, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
2. Proactive & Responsive Risk Management
- Drive enterprise-wide risk identification, mitigation, and loss prevention initiatives.
- Lead risk assessments, inspections, business continuity, and crisis preparedness programs.
- Translate risk insights into actionable business improvements
3. Claims Responsiveness & Business Continuity
- Ensure rapid response, assessment, and recovery following loss events.
- Manage insurer, broker, and surveyor engagement during claims.
- Enhance claims turnaround times and support business continuity.
4. Insurance Ecosystem Management & Claims Advocacy
- Build strategic relationships with insurers, brokers, TPAs, surveyors, and legal partners.
- Lead claims advocacy, negotiations, and dispute resolution.
- Drive superior recovery outcomes through effective stakeholder management.
5. Employee Benefits & Medical Claims Excellence.
- Oversee employee medical insurance and claims administration.
- Ensure seamless employee experience across hospitalizations, reimbursements, and escalations.
- Drive process improvements, digitization, and compliance.
6. Insurance Programme Management
- Support global insurance renewals, program optimization, and premium negotiations.
- Review coverage structures and recommend risk-financing solutions.
- Drive cost optimization and risk transfer effectiveness.
7. Mergers, Acquisitions & Integration Support
- Support insurance due diligence, risk assessment, and integration activities.
- Evaluate legacy liabilities and ensure seamless insurance harmonization.
8. Legal, Regulatory & Compliance Management
- Partner with Legal, Finance, HR, Treasury, and Compliance teams.
- Manage insurance-related disputes and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Maintain adherence to governance, audit, tax, and statutory requirements.
Qualification:
- CA / CMA / MBA; Additional qualifications in Insurance, Risk Management, Law, Corporate Governance, or Enterprise Risk Management preferred.
- CPCU, ARM, CII, IRM, RIMS, or equivalent certifications desirable.
Experience
- 12-18 years of experience in Corporate Insurance, Claims Management, Risk Management, Underwriting, Employee Benefits, or related domains.
- Experience managing multinational insurance programs and complex cross-border claims.
- Exposure to pharmaceuticals, healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, or other regulated industries preferred.
- Proven track record in large-value claims, global stakeholder management, and enterprise risk governance.
- Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, and global governance frameworks is advantageous.
