Qualification
- Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the respective State Ayurvedic Medical Council.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in an Emergency Department, ICU, or hospital setting.
- Freshers with relevant internship or emergency care exposure may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide prompt assessment and initial management of patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
- Assist in the care and monitoring of critically ill patients admitted to the ICU.
- Perform initial patient evaluation, clinical examination, and documentation.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and promptly report any deterioration to the consultant or intensivist.
- Assist in emergency procedures, including CPR, airway management, IV cannulation, catheterization, and sample collection, as per hospital protocols and under appropriate supervision.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the treating consultant.
- Coordinate with consultants, nursing staff, and other departments to ensure timely patient care.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records, treatment notes, and discharge documentation.
- Participate in emergency response teams, code blue activations, and disaster management drills.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control protocols, patient safety standards, and hospital policies.
- Counsel patients and their attendants regarding treatment plans as directed by the treating consultant.
- Participate in departmental meetings, clinical audits, and continuous medical education programs.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of emergency medical care and critical care principles.
- Ability to recognize and respond to medical emergencies promptly.
- Basic interpretation of ECGs and common laboratory investigations.
- Familiarity with emergency equipment and patient monitoring systems.
- Good communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations and rotating shifts.
Working Conditions
- Rotational shifts, including day, night, weekends, and public holidays.
- On-call duties as per hospital requirements.
