We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Entry-Level Draftsman to join our furniture manufacturing and interior design team. The ideal candidate should be proficient in AutoCAD and other CAD software, with the ability to prepare accurate furniture production drawings, interior layout drawings, and detailed shop drawings.
This is an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates and candidates with up to 2 years of experience who are passionate about furniture design, interior fit-outs, and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings for custom furniture, cabinetry, and interior projects using AutoCAD and other CAD software.
- Develop shop drawings, production drawings, cutting lists, and assembly drawings for manufacturing.
- Convert design concepts and sketches into precise technical drawings.
- Coordinate with designers, project managers, production teams, and site engineers to ensure design accuracy.
- Revise drawings based on client feedback and project requirements.
- Ensure all drawings comply with manufacturing standards, material specifications, and project requirements.
- Maintain drawing revisions, documentation, and CAD files systematically.
- Support production and installation teams by providing accurate technical details.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, Drafting, or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of CAD software such as SketchUp, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Revit, 3ds Max, or similar design tools is an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of furniture manufacturing processes, interior fit-out works, and material specifications.
- Ability to read architectural and interior design drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in preparing furniture shop drawings and interior fit-out drawings.
- Knowledge of modular furniture, wardrobes, kitchens, cabinetry, and custom furniture detailing.
- Understanding of wood-based materials, laminates, veneers, hardware, and finishing processes.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
