About the Role
Academy of Water Science and Technology, under the Water Store Kerala group, is establishing a dedicated technician training institute focused on developing skilled water purifier technicians. We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Water Purifier Technician Trainer to lead the training program, develop curriculum, train students, conduct assessments, and support placement activities.
This is a key role with the opportunity to contribute to the development of future water treatment professionals.
Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Design & Development
- Design comprehensive training modules covering installation, servicing, troubleshooting, water testing, and customer handling
- Develop training manuals, workbooks, practical guides, and assessment materials
- Create a structured one-month training program with schedules, milestones, and evaluation checkpoints
- Review and update training content based on new technologies, products, and industry practices
Training Delivery
- Conduct classroom and hands-on practical training sessions
- Train batches of 10–20 students
- Demonstrate installation and servicing of RO, UV, UF, and gravity-based water purifiers
- Train students on water quality testing, TDS measurement, and basic laboratory procedures
- Conduct sessions on customer communication, complaint handling, and professional service practices
Assessment & Certification
- Design and conduct written, practical, and field assessments
- Evaluate trainee performance and provide structured feedback
- Maintain student records, attendance, batch logs, and performance reports
- Coordinate certification activities and course completion documentation
Operations & Administration
- Manage training lab equipment, tools, and demonstration units
- Coordinate training schedules and batch planning
- Work closely with service and field teams to provide practical exposure and case studies
- Support trainee placement activities and track post-placement performance feedback
- Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the training program
Required Qualifications & Experience
- ITI / Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field
- B.Sc. or B.Tech qualification will be an added advantage
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in water purifier installation, servicing, or technical support
- Previous experience in training, mentoring, or team supervision preferred
- Familiarity with leading water purifier brands such as Kent, Aquaguard, Pureit, LG, and similar products
- Strong knowledge of RO membrane systems, pumps, solenoid valves, SMPS, and filtration assemblies
- Understanding of water quality parameters including TDS, pH, hardness, and turbidity
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to learners from different educational backgrounds
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Patient, organized, and structured teaching approach
- Fluency in Malayalam is mandatory
- Knowledge of English or Hindi will be an added advantage
- Basic computer skills and ability to prepare reports and training materials
- Leadership skills to manage classroom activities and trainee engagement
