A Tractor Sales Executive is a field-based sales role responsible for driving revenue by generating leads, demonstrating tractor features, and closing deals with farmers and agricultural businesses. They also help arrange financing, coordinate test drives, and build long-term relationships to boost brand loyalty in rural markets.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation & Fieldwork: Visit villages, local markets, and farms to prospect new buyers and generate daily sales enquiries.
- Product Demonstrations: Conduct field tests and demonstrations to showcase tractor capabilities, implement compatibility, and fuel efficiency.
- Deal Negotiation & Closing: Explain pricing, finance schemes, exchange offers, and negotiate sales contracts to meet monthly sales quotas.
- Customer Relationship Management: Maintain a strong network of farmers, build trust, and provide after-sales support, including addressing basic troubleshooting or warranty inquiries.
- Financing & Documentation: Coordinate with banks, local financiers, and insurance companies to facilitate tractor loans and process customer paperwork.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor pricing, product features, and regional marketing activities.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Industry Knowledge: A deep understanding of agricultural practices, land-holding patterns, and heavy machinery operations.
- Communication: Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Fluency in local dialects (e.g., Hindi, Bhojpuri) is essential.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel extensively within rural territories and work in the field.
- Education & Experience: Typically requires a High School diploma, though a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Business is a plus. Prior experience in agricultural machinery, commercial vehicles, or tractor loans is highly preferred.
