Job Summary:
Responsible for maintaining accurate books of accounts, preparing statutory returns, managing petty cash, and supporting HR administration. The role combines accounting operations with routine HR tasks to ensure smooth financial and employee-related processes for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping and Accounting
- Maintain day-to-day books of accounts (journals, ledgers, bank reconciliation).
- Record and reconcile all financial transactions promptly and accurately.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management summaries.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Statutory Compliance and Returns
- Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.) and reconcile input tax credits.
- Prepare and submit TDS returns and ensure timely deposit of TDS.
- Coordinate and support statutory audits and tax assessments.
- Ensure compliance with other statutory requirements (professional tax, PF/ESI filings where applicable).
- Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Process vendor invoices, maintain vendor ledger, and ensure timely payments.
- Raise and follow up on customer invoices and manage receivables.
- Maintain ageing schedules for payables and receivables.
- Petty Cash and Bank Management
- Manage petty cash fund, disbursements, and reconciliation with proper vouchers and approvals.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and coordinate with bank for transaction clarifications.
- Monitor cash flow and assist management with cash planning.
- Payroll and HR Administration
- Prepare monthly payroll (basic deductions, reimbursements, advances) and coordinate salary disbursements.
- Maintain employee records, attendance logs, leave records, and statutory contributions (PF, ESI).
- Assist recruitment administration (interview scheduling, onboarding paperwork) and exit formalities.
- Support HR communications, employee claims, and preparation of employment-related documents (offer letters, experience letters).
- Documentation and Internal Controls
- Maintain organized financial and HR records: invoices, vouchers, contracts, employee files.
- Implement and follow internal control procedures to prevent errors and fraud.
- Prepare supporting documents for audits and management reviews.
- Miscellaneous
- Liaise with external consultants (tax advisors, auditors) and government authorities as required.
- Assist management with budgeting, cost control measures, and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform other finance and HR-related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, or Finance. CA Inter / CMA Inter or equivalent is an advantage.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in accounting, statutory compliance, payroll, and HR administration. (Adjust years as needed.)
- Hands-on experience with GST, TDS, PF/ESI procedures and filings.
- Proficient in accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or the company’s ERP) and MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, and payroll processing.
- Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with internal teams and external agencies.

Reporting & Work Relationships:
- Reports to: Senior Accounts Manager / Director
- Works closely with: Accounts cum HR Manager, Operations, Management, external auditors and tax consultants.
