Job Title: Jewelry Wax Model Maker (Traditional/Hand-Carving)
Location: Jodhpur, Rajasthan (on-site)
About the Role
We're looking for a skilled traditional Model Maker to hand-carve wax masters for our fine jewelry line. This is a bench-craft role — you'll work directly with wax, files, and hand tools to create the physical master models that go into casting, either from scratch or from a design brief/sketch.
Responsibilities
- Hand-carve wax models for rings, pendants, and bands using traditional bench tools (files, saws, wax carving tools, calipers)
- Interpret sketches, references, or existing pieces and translate them into precise wax masters
- Set up stone seats, prong structures, and channel/pavé work by hand where required
- Check proportions, wall thickness, and metal-weight considerations before handing off to casting
- Make corrections/adjustments to existing masters or molds (repairs, resizing, minor redesigns)
- Coordinate with casting vendor and production team to ensure masters cast cleanly
- Maintain and organize a library of masters/molds
Requirements
- 3+ years hands-on experience in traditional wax carving for fine jewelry (rings, bands, pendants)
- Strong command of hand tools: wax files, carving burs, calipers, wax pens/spatulas
- Solid understanding of stone-setting types (prong, bezel, channel, pavé) and how they translate from wax to cast metal
- Ability to work from sketches or verbal briefs without needing full CAD files
- Steady hands, strong attention to symmetry and proportion
- Portfolio or samples of past carved work
Nice to Have
- Experience with rubber mold making / vulcanizing for repeat production
- Familiarity with hand-engraving or filigree work
- Prior experience in the export/US jewelry market (design conventions, sizing standards)
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
