Maintenance Store Assistant
Reporting To : Stores Manager
Job Purpose
To support the maintenance department by ensuring proper receipt, storage, issuance, and record-keeping of maintenance spare parts, consumables, tools, and equipment. The role is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring timely availability of materials required for maintenance activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management
- Receive, inspect, and store maintenance spare parts and consumables.
- Issue materials against approved requisitions.
- Maintain stock records and update inventory transactions.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or slow-moving items.
- Assist in periodic stock verification and inventory audits.
Store Operations
- Maintain proper arrangement and identification of materials in the store.
- Ensure cleanliness and housekeeping of the maintenance store.
- Follow FIFO (First In First Out) practices where applicable.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of materials.
Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain GRN, issue slips, stock registers, and related documents.
- Update ERP/Excel-based inventory records accurately.
- Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
- Maintain records of tools issued to maintenance personnel.
Coordination
- Coordinate with the Maintenance, Purchase, and Supply Chain departments for material requirements.
- Follow up on pending spare parts and consumables.
- Support emergency material issuance during breakdown situations.
Compliance & Safety
- Follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper storage of critical and hazardous materials.
- Participate in inventory and compliance audits.
Qualification
- Graduate / Diploma in any discipline.
- Basic knowledge of inventory and store management.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in Store, Maintenance Store, or Inventory Management.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment will be preferred.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of spare parts and maintenance consumables.
- Basic ERP/SAP or inventory management software knowledge.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a team and coordinate with multiple departments.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Inventory accuracy.
- Timely issuance of materials.
- Stock availability of critical spares.
- Compliance with store documentation.
- Housekeeping and safety compliance in the store.
