About the Role We are looking for a hands-on ServiceNow Developer with strong experience in UI Builder to design and build intuitive user journeys on the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate should combine strong ServiceNow development skills with an understanding of user experience, workflow design, and business processes. The candidate must be able to communicate clearly with business users, UX designers, architects, and technical teams. The goal is to independently translate requirements and wireframes into working ServiceNow experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop user journeys, pages, workspaces, and custom web experiences using ServiceNow UI Builder.
- Convert business requirements, process flows, wireframes, and UX designs into functional ServiceNow interfaces.
- Configure page layouts, components, page variants, navigation, modals, forms, lists, dashboards, and contextual actions.
- Implement UI Builder data resources, data bindings, client state parameters, client scripts, events, and event handlers.
- Develop reusable components or custom components where standard UI Builder components are insufficient.
- Integrate UI experiences with ServiceNow tables, business logic, Flow Designer workflows, Script Includes, APIs, and platform services.
- Build responsive, accessible, consistent, and user-friendly experiences across desktop and mobile browser sizes.
- Troubleshoot UI behaviour, data-binding issues, performance problems, security restrictions, and upgrade-related concerns.
- Participate in requirement workshops, demonstrate completed journeys, explain design decisions, and incorporate stakeholder feedback.
- Prepare technical documentation, configuration notes, test scenarios, and deployment instructions.
- Follow ServiceNow development, security, source-control, update-set/application-repository, and upgrade-safe configuration practices.
Requirements
- Have at least 3 years of ServiceNow development experience, with substantial recent hands-on experience in UI Builder and Next Experience.
- Deliver at least two significant UI Builder implementations, such as configurable workspaces, custom portals, employee experiences, agent experiences, or guided business journeys.
- Possess strong practical knowledge of UI Builder pages, layouts, components, templates, page variants, and routing.
- Possess strong practical knowledge of data resources, data binding, transforms, client state parameters, client scripts, and events.
- Possess strong practical knowledge of Configurable Workspaces and workspace customization.
- Possess strong practical knowledge of ServiceNow tables, forms, lists, ACLs, roles, Glide APIs, Business Rules, Script Includes, and Flow Designer.
- Possess strong practical knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, REST APIs, JSON, and asynchronous data handling.
- Determine when to use standard components, configured components, scripted behaviour, or custom components.
- Understand UX principles, responsive design, accessibility, usability, and journey-based application design.
- Possess strong debugging, testing, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders through excellent verbal and written communication.
Good to Have
- Be ServiceNow Certified Application Developer or Certified System Administrator.
- Have experience with one or more ServiceNow products such as ITSM, CSM, HRSD, FSM, App Engine, or Strategic Portfolio Management.
- Have experience working with UX designers and interpreting Figma designs, design systems, prototypes, or detailed wireframes.
- Be familiar with ServiceNow custom components, the Now Experience UI Framework, automated testing, Git-based development, and CI/CD practices.
