The role requires a strong focus on cellulosic fibre manufacturing process equipment performance assessment and proposing design modifications / alternatives in sync with process chemistry, thermodynamics and plant SOP’s.
This includes expertise in solid handling, reactors, mixing tanks, dryers, separation systems (filtration, dewatering, absorber, adsorber, etc.), heat exchangers, etc.
The responsibilities extend to scale-up and scale-down aspects targeting R&D solution development, process improvement, process engineering and plant implementations of R&D solutions. R&D solution development involves customized sensor development for cellulosic process coupled with data analytics and digitalization.
In addition to technical proficiency, the role requires strong soft skills, such as building relationships with stakeholders and conducting plant visits to understand customer needs.
Role critically requires addressing technical challenges, and drive process improvements starting from R&D based technical solution development and use of process engineering approach with plant implementation mindset. Require willingness to travel to manufacturing sites as per project need targeting on-field measurements / assessment, trials, meeting, etc.

Process and Design Optimization, Process Development, Process Troubleshooting is a must.

Education & Experience –
M. Tech (Chemical Engineering from Tier 1 colleges)- 5-7 years of experience
PhD (Chemical Engineering from Tier 1 colleges)- 2-3 years of experience.

Experience in equipment design, process design, process/chemistry/thermodynamics fundamentals, technology development, process scale-up & engineering, solids handling, etc. – Non-negotiable.

Industrial experience in the Cellulosic fibre industry, Chemical or polymer industry including design consultancy firm.
