Job Summary
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for expanding the company's domestic and international business in the ferro alloy sector. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, increasing sales of Silico Manganese (SiMn), Ferro Manganese (FeMn), Ferro Chrome (FeCr), and Ferro Nickel (FeNi), conducting market analysis, negotiating commercial contracts, and achieving revenue and profitability targets.
The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of the steel and alloy industry, customer buying patterns, international trade, and supply chain dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to increase sales and market share.
- Identify and onboard new customers in the steel, foundry, stainless steel, and alloy manufacturing industries.
- Develop long-term relationships with domestic and international customers.
- Explore new markets, export opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
- Prepare annual sales plans, revenue forecasts, and business growth strategies.
- Represent our company at industry exhibitions, trade fairs, and customer meetings.
Sales & Marketing
- Promote and sell Ferro Alloys including:
- Silico Manganese (SiMn)
- Ferro Manganese (FeMn)
- Ferro Chrome (FeCr)
- Ferro Nickel (FeNi)
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Conduct customer visits, technical discussions, and commercial negotiations.
- Prepare quotations, pricing strategies, and commercial proposals.
- Coordinate order execution from enquiry to delivery.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor ferro alloy market trends, pricing, and competitor activities.
- Analyze domestic and international ferro alloy market trends.
- Analyze demand-supply scenarios and recommend pricing strategies.
- Track raw material price movements and their impact on finished products.
- Identify emerging industries and customer segments.
Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic accounts.
- Resolve customer concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular business review meetings with customers.
- Build long-term customer retention strategies.
Commercial & Contract Management
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, payment conditions, and supply agreements.
- Coordinate with Finance for credit approvals and payment follow-up.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Manage tender participation and long-term supply contracts.
Export Business Development
- Develop export markets across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and other potential regions.
- Identify overseas buyers, distributors, and trading partners.
- Coordinate export documentation, logistics, and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in international trade exhibitions and business development initiatives.
Coordination
- Work closely with Production, Planning, Dispatch, Logistics, Procurement, and Finance teams.
- Coordinate production planning based on customer demand.
- Monitor order execution and timely deliveries.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, Dispatch, Logistics, Procurement, and Finance teams.
- Align production schedules with customer requirements.
- Ensure timely execution of customer orders and deliveries.
- Provide market feedback to assist in production planning and product development.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and CRM database.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
- Present sales performance, market trends, and business forecasts to senior management.
- Track sales KPIs and recommend corrective actions where required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Metallurgy, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial) or Business Administration.
- MBA in Marketing or International Business is preferred.
Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Marketing within the ferro alloy, steel, mining, or metallurgical industry.
- Proven experience in selling ferro alloys such as SiMn, FeMn, FeCr, and FeNi.
- Experience in domestic and export sales is preferred.
- Strong network within steel plants, foundries, stainless steel manufacturers, and alloy producers.
