Job Summary
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, vendor management, and distribution. The role ensures the timely availability of materials, cost optimization, operational efficiency, and seamless coordination between internal departments and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage procurement, inventory planning, warehousing, transportation, and distribution activities.
- Forecast material requirements and ensure timely procurement to avoid production or operational delays.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements with vendors.
- Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory control measures to minimize excess stock and shortages.
- Coordinate with production, sales, finance, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
- Analyze supply chain performance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and statutory regulations.
- Manage logistics operations, including transportation planning and delivery schedules.
- Track key supply chain metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
- Lead and mentor the supply chain team while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure business continuity.
- Implement and optimize ERP/SCM systems for improved operational visibility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA/Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain or Operations Management is preferred.
- 6–10 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, or operations, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) and inventory management practices.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
