Job Overview
We are looking for a highly creative, technically proficient, and detail-oriented Product Designer to manage the complete design lifecycle of luxury lighting collections and bespoke installations.
This is a hands-on role that bridges artistic conceptualization with engineering accuracy, transforming avant-garde design ideas into structurally sound, technically feasible, and production-ready products.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of product design, luxury materials, craftsmanship, 3D modelling, technical detailing, and prototyping, along with a passion for sculpture, spatial design, and premium lighting.
You will collaborate with architects, interior designers, clients, artisans, manufacturers, vendors, sales, and marketing teams to take products from concept through prototyping and final execution.
Key Responsibilities1. Concept Development & Research
- Conceptualize innovative lighting fixtures, home accessories, and monumental/bespoke installations through sketching and form exploration.
- Develop creative product concepts with a strong understanding of form, proportion, scale, and spatial relationships.
- Research global luxury design trends, contemporary design, experimental techniques, and emerging materials.
- Explore new material combinations including glass, metals, stone, ceramics, and other luxury materials.
- Develop comprehensive mood boards, material palettes, swatch collections, references, and design narratives.
- Translate creative ideas into compelling visual concepts while maintaining a premium and sophisticated design language.
2. Technical Design & Prototyping
- Develop complex, high-fidelity 3D models for lighting products and bespoke installations.
- Create realistic KeyShot renders demonstrating product scale, placement, finishes, materials, and lighting effects.
- Translate design concepts into precise 2D and 3D technical drawings.
- Prepare detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product specifications for manufacturing.
- Ensure designs are technically feasible and suitable for fabrication and production.
- Understand material limitations, manufacturing processes, fabrication techniques, structural requirements, and luxury finishes.
- Develop and refine prototypes in collaboration with manufacturers and artisans.
- Review samples and prototypes and ensure they meet approved design concepts and quality standards.
3. Vendor & Artisan Coordination
- Work directly with traditional Indian glassblowers, craftsmen, fabricators, and manufacturing vendors.
- Coordinate prototype development, sampling, material selection, finishes, and production requirements.
- Communicate design intent and technical requirements clearly to vendors and production teams.
- Conduct design reviews and provide feedback during the prototyping and manufacturing process.
- Identify production challenges and develop practical design solutions without compromising the original design vision.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Create customized design presentations for architects, interior designers, luxury clients, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Support sales and business development teams with product concepts, renders, technical drawings, and customized design proposals.
- Collaborate with project teams to adapt designs according to client and project requirements.
- Work closely with marketing and PR teams to provide high-end renders, product visuals, sketches, and design assets.
- Support catalogues, presentations, exhibitions, websites, social media, and other brand communication requirements.
5. Design Documentation & Archive Management
- Maintain well-organized digital and physical archives of:
- Product concepts
- CAD files
- 3D models
- Technical drawings
- Renders
- BOMs
- Material references
- Prototype documentation
- Production files
- Maintain accurate version control and ensure documentation is updated throughout the product lifecycle.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across all design and production files.
Skills & Requirements
- 3–8 years of proven professional experience in Product Design, Industrial Design, Lighting Design, Furniture Design, or related fields.
- Experience in luxury interiors, lighting, furniture, architecture, or premium product design is strongly preferred.
- Strong conceptualization, sketching, and form-development skills.
- Excellent understanding of spatial design, proportion, scale, composition, and functionality.
- Strong knowledge of materials including glass, metals, stone, ceramics, and luxury finishes.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication techniques, prototyping, and production constraints.
- Understanding of electrical and lighting fundamentals.
- Ability to transform creative concepts into technically accurate and production-ready designs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to design quality.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Hands-on approach to product development and execution.

Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating product design, 3D modelling, technical drawings, rendering, material exploration, and executed projects is mandatory.
