Job Description – PRT Science
Position: Primary Teacher (Science)
Grade Level: Classes 1 to 5
Department: Academics
Reports to: Principal
1. Role Purpose (Brief Overview)
The PRT Science teacher is responsible for teaching basic scientific concepts to primary-grade students in an engaging, activity-based, and age‑appropriate manner. The teacher must foster curiosity, encourage observation, and build foundational understanding of the environment, living and non-living things, energy, plants, animals, and basic scientific skills.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver interactive Science lessons for Classes 1–5.
- Use activity-based, experiential, and hands-on learning methods.
- Ensure that lessons align with school curriculum and learning outcomes.
- Encourage scientific thinking: observation, questioning, exploration.
- Use teaching aids, models, charts, and digital tools effectively.
B. Classroom Management
- Maintain a positive, disciplined, and child-friendly classroom environment.
- Ensure safety during science-related activities and demonstrations.
- Address the learning needs of slow learners and advanced learners.
C. Assessment & Evaluation
- Conduct formative and summative assessments as per academic plan.
- Prepare worksheets, class tests, assignments, and project work.
- Maintain student performance records and share feedback with parents.
- Identify learning gaps and provide timely academic support.
D. Student Development
- Promote scientific curiosity and encourage students to explore the world around them.
- Motivate students to participate in Science exhibitions, competitions, and projects.
- Help students develop basic science skills: drawing diagrams, labeling, observation, recording, and reasoning.
E. Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate lesson plans, attendance records, and assessment logs.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
- Coordinate with co‑teachers and participate in collaborative planning.
- Ensure adherence to school rules, policies, and safeguarding guidelines.
F. Parent Interaction
- Participate in PTMs and communicate student progress professionally.
- Address parent concerns with clarity and sensitivity.
3. Required Knowledge & Skills
- Strong conceptual foundation in basic Science.
- Ability to simplify scientific concepts for young learners.
- Good communication and classroom management skills.
- Familiarity with activity-based learning and primary pedagogies.
- Basic digital literacy (smartboard, presentations, worksheets).
4. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably with Science background).
- B.Ed. / D.El.Ed. / relevant teaching certification (as per norms).
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience teaching primary classes (preferred).

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
