Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Freight Broker to manage end-to-end transportation operations by connecting shippers with reliable carriers. The role involves load management, carrier sourcing, shipment tracking, rate negotiation, compliance management, and maintaining strong relationships with carriers and clients. The ideal candidate should have strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering cost-effective and timely transportation solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesLoad & Shipper Management
- Manage the complete lifecycle of freight shipments from shipper requirements to final delivery.
- Coordinate with shippers and carriers to ensure efficient load planning, capacity optimization, and on-time delivery.
- Identify transportation challenges and implement solutions to minimize delays and improve service quality.
- Ensure customer requirements, delivery timelines, and operational expectations are consistently met.
New Carrier & Client Onboarding
- Identify, qualify, and onboard new carriers to expand the transportation network.
- Develop relationships with potential shippers and clients to generate new business opportunities.
- Verify carrier capabilities, service areas, equipment availability, and operational reliability.
- Maintain accurate carrier and client records within transportation management systems.
Track & Trace Operations
- Monitor shipment movement and carrier performance through tracking tools and communication channels.
- Provide real-time updates to customers and internal stakeholders regarding shipment status.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential delivery issues.
- Maintain visibility throughout the transportation process to ensure customer satisfaction.
Carrier Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all carriers meet company, legal, regulatory, and safety requirements.
- Manage and verify essential documentation, including insurance certificates, permits, safety records, and agreements.
- Maintain compliance records and support audit requirements.
- Ensure smooth execution of shipments through proper documentation management.
Rate Negotiation & Margin Management
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers to secure competitive pricing.
- Analyze market trends and transportation costs to maximize profitability.
- Manage pricing strategies by balancing carrier payments and customer billing.
- Monitor margins and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
Carrier Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with transportation partners.
- Communicate regularly with carriers to improve service performance and operational efficiency.
- Resolve carrier concerns, shipment issues, and service challenges promptly.
- Develop partnerships through transparency, trust, and performance-based collaboration.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in freight brokerage, logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of freight operations, carrier management, and shipment coordination.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with TMS platforms, load boards, and shipment tracking tools is preferred.
- Ability to meet performance goals related to revenue, margins, and customer satisfaction.
Pay: From ₹50,000.00 per month
