A BOM (Bill of Materials) Data Entry professional creates and updates digital lists of parts, materials, and instructions needed to build a product. They link the production floor to the supply chain.
Responsibilities
> Data Input: Type part numbers, descriptions, and quantities into ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) databases.
> Accuracy Check: Compare typed lists against engineering drawings to spot errors before manufacturing begins.
> Track Changes: Update material lists when product designs or supplier options change.
> Team Work: Talk with design, purchasing, and factory teams to make sure everyone has the correct part information.
Core Requirements
> Computer Skills: Fast typing speed and deep knowledge of MS Excel.
> Attention to Detail: The ability to catch tiny errors in large numbers or part codes.
> Experience: Familiarity with manufacturing terms or database software.
