Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Job Summary
The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of all mechanical equipment and machinery. The role involves planning and executing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime, improve equipment performance, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and identify root causes of equipment issues.
- Monitor the performance and condition of plant machinery and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate with production teams to minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure proper maintenance of pumps, compressors, conveyors, gearboxes, motors, bearings, valves, piping systems, and other mechanical equipment.
- Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history.
- Implement predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company maintenance standards.
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement of critical spares.
- Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors during maintenance activities.
- Participate in equipment installation, commissioning, and modification projects.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5–8 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within manufacturing, process, power, cement, steel, automotive, or similar industries.
- Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.
- Understanding of maintenance documentation.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
