Concrete Quality Control
- Monitor:
- Mix design approval
- Slump test, cube test, temperature control
- Ensure proper batching, pouring, vibration, and curing of concrete.
Structural Work Quality
- Check quality in
- Pile foundation / open foundation
- Pier, abutment, pier cap
- Girder launching (PSC / steel girder)
- Deck slab and wearing coat
- Ensure alignment, levels, and tolerances are maintained.
Coordination with Lab & Third Party
- Coordinate with site lab / third-party lab for testing.
- Witness critical tests like:
- Cube testing
- Steel testing
- Load tests (if applicable)
Non-Conformance & Corrective Action
- Identify and report Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Suggest and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure closure of quality issues.
Client & Consultant Interaction
- Attend inspections with client / consultant / authority.
- Get approvals for completed work stages.
- Handle quality-related queries and audits.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain:
- Daily quality reports
- Inspection records
- Test registers
- Prepare monthly quality reports and submit to management.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with:
- IRC codes (for bridges)
- IS codes
- Railway standards (for ROB works)
- Follow safety and environmental guidelines.
Finishing & Final Inspection
- Inspect finishing works like:
- Expansion joints
- Crash barriers
- Drainage system
- Ensure project is ready for final handover.
