Job Summary
The Junior Tool Designer is responsible for supporting the design and development of plastic injection moulds and tooling components. The role involves creating 2D drawings and 3D models, assisting in mold design modifications, and ensuring design accuracy as per engineering standards. The candidate will coordinate with senior designers, production, and tool room teams to support smooth execution of tool development and manufacturing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of plastic injection moulds
- Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Support senior designers in mold design reviews and engineering changes
- Ensure design accuracy and compliance with company standards and customer requirements
- Coordinate with production, tool room, and quality teams for design implementation
- Support tooling trials and modifications based on feedback from production
- Maintain proper documentation of all design drawings, revisions, and records
- Assist in resolving basic design-related issues during manufacturing and assembly
Qualifications
- Diploma / Post Diploma in Tool Design or Mechanical Engineering
- 1–2 years of experience in mold design (preferably in plastic injection moulding industry)
Preferred Skills
- Basic knowledge of plastic injection moulding process and mould components
- Hands-on knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and work with senior design engineers
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
