An Auto STP Operator (often called an Automatic Stamping/Transfer Press Operator, depending on the company) is responsible for operating automated production machines in manufacturing plants, especially in the automotive, metal, or engineering industries.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Setting up and operating the automatic STP machine according to production requirements.
- Loading raw materials into the machine.
- Monitoring machine performance during operation.
- Inspecting finished parts for quality and dimensions.
- Recording production data and reporting defects or machine issues.
- Performing basic machine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
- Following safety procedures and using personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinating with supervisors and maintenance technicians if breakdowns occur.
Required skills
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read work instructions or production drawings.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as vernier calipers or gauges (in some roles).
- Attention to detail for quality inspection.
- Willingness to work in shifts.
Educational qualification
- Typically 10th/12th pass, ITI (Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Electrician, etc.), or Diploma depending on the employer
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
