About the Role
Naruvi Hospitals is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Consultant Medical Oncologist to join our Oncology Department. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care for patients with solid tumours and haematological malignancies, delivering evidence-based cancer treatment while working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, evaluate, and manage patients with various cancers in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based oncology guidelines.
- Administer and supervise systemic cancer therapies, including:
- Chemotherapy
- Immunotherapy
- Targeted therapy
- Hormonal therapy
- Manage treatment-related toxicities and complications.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary cancer care with surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, palliative care specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Evaluate patients for participation in tumour boards and contribute to multidisciplinary treatment planning.
- Provide supportive and palliative care to improve quality of life throughout the cancer journey.
- Educate and counsel patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and survivorship care.
- Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation and compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, CMEs, research, and academic activities.
- Mentor junior doctors, residents, nursing staff, and allied healthcare professionals where applicable.
Qualifications
- DM/DNB in Medical Oncology (or equivalent qualification recognised by the National Medical Commission).
- MD/DNB in General Medicine or MD in Paediatrics (where applicable) as the qualifying postgraduate degree.
- Valid Medical Council registration.
Experience
- Minimum: 1 year
- Maximum: 5 years
- Experience in administering systemic cancer therapies and managing oncology patients is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong clinical expertise in the diagnosis and management of malignancies.
- Proficiency in chemotherapy protocols, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and supportive oncology care.
- Excellent clinical judgment and evidence-based decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and counselling skills with empathy for patients and families.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary oncology team.
- Commitment to patient safety, ethical medical practice, and continuous professional development.
Work Schedule
- Shift Pattern: Rotational shifts
- Working Hours: 9 hours per day
- Working Days: 6 days per week
- Participation in emergency and on-call duties as per departmental roster.
Pay: ₹1,800,000.00 - ₹2,400,000.00 per year
