Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Academic Counselor to guide prospective and existing students in making informed academic and career decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong counseling, communication, and relationship management skills, with the ability to understand students' aspirations and recommend suitable academic programs. This role also involves mentoring junior counselors, achieving enrollment targets, and ensuring an exceptional student experience throughout the admission journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel prospective students and parents on academic programs, career pathways, admissions processes, and course selection.
- Understand students' educational background, career goals, and interests to recommend appropriate programs.
- Manage the complete admission lifecycle, from inquiry generation to enrollment.
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions through phone calls, virtual meetings, emails, and in-person interactions.
- Follow up with leads and nurture prospects to maximize conversions while maintaining a consultative approach.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, educational institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly admission and revenue targets.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions, applications, and follow-ups in the CRM system.
- Coordinate with admissions, academic, finance, and operations teams to ensure a seamless enrollment experience.
- Stay updated on institutional programs, admission policies, industry trends, and higher education opportunities.
- Mentor, coach, and support junior academic counselors to improve team performance.
- Prepare counseling reports, enrollment forecasts, and performance metrics for management.
- Participate in seminars, webinars, education fairs, and promotional events to represent the institution.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and ethical counseling standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Master's degree is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in academic counseling, admissions, education sales, or student advisory services.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding admission or enrollment targets.
- Experience in mentoring or leading counseling teams is an advantage.
