Job Summary
The Sales Engineer is responsible for promoting and selling cargo lashing, packaging, load securing, and related industrial solutions to customers in logistics, shipping, manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, and export industries. The role combines technical product knowledge with sales expertise to identify customer requirements, provide suitable solutions, and achieve sales targets.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
- Generate new business opportunities through cold calling, customer visits, referrals, and market research.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers in logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, manufacturing, automotive, engineering, and export sectors.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate lashing and packaging solutions.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Prepare and submit quotations, proposals, and commercial offers.
Technical Support
- Conduct site inspections and cargo assessments.
- Recommend suitable lashing systems, dunnage solutions, packaging materials, and load securing methods.
- Provide technical demonstrations and product presentations.
- Coordinate with operations and technical teams to ensure proper solution implementation.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build long-term relationships with key customers.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and after-sales support.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for repeat business.
Market Intelligence
- Track competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
- Identify new market segments and business opportunities.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and market feedback to management.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain customer records and sales activities in CRM systems.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Follow up on quotations, orders, and payment collections.
Required QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Packaging Technology, Logistics, or related field.
- MBA in Marketing is an added advantage.
Experience
- Fresher And 1 to 5 year years of sales experience in:
- Cargo lashing systems
- Industrial packaging
- Logistics solutions
- Material handling products
- Shipping and transportation industry
- Industrial consumables
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of cargo securing and lashing techniques.
- Understanding of export packaging standards.
- Familiarity with ratchet lashings, polyester webbing, dunnage bags, strapping systems, shrink wrapping, and protective packaging materials.
- Ability to read technical specifications and customer requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
